Expedia Maps Offers searchable listing in the United States and Europe by address and driving directions.

GoogleMaps - Provides directions, interactive maps, and satellite/aerial imagery of the United States. Can also search by keyword such as type of business.

MapsOnUs - a service of Switchboard.com

Maporama -Generates maps for a desired address or point of interest. Output is also viewable on handheld computers.

MapQuest - Find directions for and explore towns and cities worldwide. Display addresses on a map, view nearby businesses, get driving directions and maps, and plan a trip with city information. Also includes aerial photographs of selected areas.

MSN Maps and Directions - formerly Mapblast

MSN Virtual Earth Provides directions, interactive maps, and satellite/aerial imagery of the United States. Can also search by keyword such as type of business.

Multimap - Global mapping service including street maps of Europe, North America and Australia.

Canada

Atlas of Canada - provides authoritative, current and accessible geographic information products at a national level.

Geographical Names of Canada - In Canada, since 1897, names on official, federal government maps have been authorized through a national committee, now known as the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC).

Color Landform Atlas of the United States - The name is misleading. Lots of links to on-line maps, including an 1895 atlas image for each state.

Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Georgia maintains a collection of more than 800 historic maps spanning nearly 500 years, from the sixteenth century through the early twentieth century.

According to Wikipedia:

Freehold is a term used in real estate or real property law, land held in fee simple, as opposed to leasehold, which is land which is leased.

A freeholder is an elected county official in the State of New Jersey; see Board of Chosen Freeholders, the body they serve in. (an 8th great-grandfather of mine was one of the earliest freeholders)

Farnham's Freehold is a novel written by Robert A. Heinlein in 1965.

North Farnham was an Anglican parish in Richmond county, Virginia (9th great-grandparents owned land in this parish)
